most people look at a token's reward system and immediately focus on how much they can earn. i think another question deserves equal attention: how does the system treat people who stay involved over time? @RebateLaunch has described a holding-reward structure for robinhood:0xb7ff57631b97000d950236ef63bd463da5beba7e that considers both token balance and holding duration. the stated multipliers are: → 1x during the first 3 days. → 1.5x from day 3 to day 7. → 2x from day 7 onward. the idea is straightforward: longer holding periods can receive a higher reward weight. this introduces a time component into the incentive model instead of treating every holder identically based only on their balance. there are a few things worth understanding here. a higher multiplier does not automatically mean a guaranteed return. actual payouts depend on the reward pool, eligible holdings, and the distribution rules. rewards also shouldn't be confused with price appreciation. a token can distribute rewards while its market price moves in either direction. that distinction matters because responsible participation starts with understanding both the opportunity and the risk. what makes this mechanism interesting is the attempt to recognize sustained participation rather than focusing exclusively on short-term transactions. the bigger question is whether the rewards remain meaningful as participation grows. i'll be watching payout consistency, the funding source, and the relationship between holder growth and available rewards. for robinhood:0xb7ff57631b97000d950236ef63bd463da5beba7e, the multiplier is one part of the design. the economics behind it are what ultimately matter.
